NHR 9410-12 Regenerative Grid Simulator
The NH Research NHR 9410-12 Regenerative Grid Simulator is a four-quadrant AC/DC source designed for testing grid-tied equipment such as PV inverters. This grid simulator is perfect for simulating power disturbances and compliant with industry requirements because it has integrated waveform digitization and adjustable phase outputs. With power levels of up to 12kW/31.5kVA for 1Φ or 3Φ and current ranges of up to 90A for single-phase systems, the 9410-12 provides a wide range of AC and DC outputs. Because of its adaptability, users can arrange the outputs in single, split, or three-phase forms, making it appropriate for a range of testing applications.
When in sink mode, the simulator's capacity to regenerate power back to the facility mains improves efficiency by lowering heat dissipation and increasing energy savings. The frequency programmability allows for testing of various grid conditions, with a range of 30Hz to 100Hz and an option to extend up to 880Hz. The 9410 can manage reactive and true power without degrading performance because of the system's HiVAR design, which allows it to sustain full real power over a range of voltages. This capability to generate reactive power expands the set of grid-tied goods that are testable.
User-defined waveforms and macros can be used to create non-sinusoidal voltages and transient anomalies using the powerful disturbance simulation facilities of the NHR 9410-12. These features enable the simulator to precisely simulate phase leaps, sub-cycle transients, and other situations necessary for compliance testing. Without the need for external tools like oscilloscopes or multimeters, its sophisticated measurement system digitizes waveforms at 1MS/sec for real-time display, recording, and analysis.
The 9410-12's control is very flexible. The integrated touch panel allows users to operate the device quickly and easily. For more involved testing, PC-based software is available, or fully documented drivers compatible with LabVIEW and SCPI/VXI-11 can be used for custom programming. Ethernet communication interfaces allow for easy incorporation into bigger testing environments.
